| we have an apartment! amazing. yesterday, 74 days into our ICS life in Rome, we signed a contract, handed over a huge pile of cash, and got some funky keys and an apartment full of an older lady's stuff. so today i have been up to my eyeballs in lysol, wiping down every surface in sight and sorting through a crazy assortment of housewares and knick-knacks. this week promises to be a whirlwind of unpacking suitcases and trips to IKEA. google earth us at via della marsica 23, rome, italy, 00162. woohoo!

| wow, i'm in rome. so surreal. we got here wednesday afternoon, and it's been a fun and crazy time. applying for all our paperwork, looking for apartments, hanging with brian and the rest of our staff team, wandering around this amazing and confusing city, eating really fresh and delicious food. jet lag isn't too bad, although my 2-hour naps the last 2 days have helped me along. please pray for our hunt for una appartamento perfetto. it's crazy and exhausting and difficult to know what we're looking for and how to find it. it feels so normal to be here, and pretty unreal at the same time, so i think that means reality hasn't sunk in quite yet. but, so far, i'm having a really good time. | Currently Watching

| just so everybody knows... we fly to rome february 27! it's hard to believe i have less than 2 weeks in america. however, chicagoland just got a million inches of snow and it's 60 degrees in rome, so i have to say i'm not feeling too sad right now. we do need about $250/month yet in support, plus all the extra we can get, as housing is continuing to prove to be a monumental expense. brian evans is already in rome and has been working hard to find us a sweet apartment, and seems to have one currently with a lot of potential. shout out to evs for hooking us up. pray for us and the zillions of things we need to do in the next 2 weeks. mmm, gelato here i come! | Currently Listening

| we officially got our italian visas this week! praise Jesus. now we just have to finish raising support - $675/month to go. we have a tentative departure date of february 13, but that's less than 3 weeks away. anybody out there got a few extra hundred bucks a month you want to send my way so I can finally move to rome??? thanks. | | |
| if you know me, you know i HATE cold, snow, overcast skies, and all things winter. but i have to say that i'm excited today is a snow day. we have about 10 inches of snow on the ground, and it's still coming down like mad. it's friday, i'm drinking coffee and eating breakfast casserole with my mother-in-law, we're going to scrapbook and bake cookies and hang out all day. so here i am, december 1, mid-blizzard, and i can honestly say i am grateful for the snow.
